Plot Synopsis
After a newly independent Grace moves into an apartment across the hall, she decides to throw a dinner party all by herself. Will isn't invited, but he has a date. Meanwhile, to solve problems with the INS, Jack moves in with his new bride Rosario in the maid's quarters at Karen's.

- Grace moves into apartment 9A.
- Will met Richard at Borders bookstore, where he works.
- Karen tells Rosario "Hey, you're on the clock, tamale. Get to work!" (See the transcript for the entire scene.) After pressure from Latin groups, the offending "tamale" was over-dubbed with "honey" when it premiered on 9/21/99. A subsequent repeat airing on 12/17/99 restored the scene. NBC Entertainment president Garth Ancier later said "I think we overreacted the first time." However, on 8/3/2000, "tamale" was substituted with "honey" and the camera angle on Karen was changed so that you couldn't see her mouth.
