Notes
  • This is the first episode we see the planet Betazed, both planetary orbit view and the surface.
  • According to Deanna, the Sacred Chalice of Rixx is "an old clay pot with mold growing inside it."
  • Wesley figures out a way to track the Ferengi ship and misses the final ship (the U.S.S. Bradbury NX-72307) to Starfleet Academy. Captain Picard gives him a field promotion to full Starfleet ensign.
  • Picard quotes Shakespeare to win Lwaxana back from Tog.
  • The Ferengi have a four-lobe brain, which makes it difficult for Betazoids to read their thoughts and emotions.
  • The Ferengi enjoy having their ears stroked as foreplay, which they call "oo-mox."
  • Ethan Phillips will go on to play Neelix on Star Trek Voyager.
  • Episode co-writer Susan Sacket was Gene Roddenberry's personal assistant.
