After a newly independent Grace moves into an apartment across the hall, she decides to throw a dinner party all by herself. Will isn't invited, but he has a date. Meanwhile, to solve problems with the INS, Jack moves in with his new bride Rosario in the maid's quarters at Karen's.

Will met Richard at Borders bookstore, where he works.
Karen tells Rosario "Hey, you're on the clock, tamale. Get to work!" (See the transcript for the entire scene.) After pressure from Latin groups, the offending "tamale" was over-dubbed with "honey" when it premiered on 9/21/99. A subsequent repeat airing on 12/17/99 restored the scene. NBC Entertainment president Garth Ancier later said "I think we overreacted the first time." However, on 8/3/2000, "tamale" was substituted with "honey" and the camera angle on Karen was changed so that you couldn't see her mouth.
