Notes
  • Season 2 Finale.
  • The opening log is recorded by Captain Batel.
  • The U.S.S. Cayuga has arrived on the colongy of Parnassus Beta, located just outside of Federation space. The outpost was designed to resemble a midwest United States town.
  • Since the previous Gorn encounters, Starfleet has deployed upgraded weapons and tricorders to use against the Gorn.
  • This is the first appearance of Montgomery Scott, Lieutenant Junior Grade, on Strange New Worlds. He was on the solar research vessel U.S.S. Stardiver, which was destroyed by the Gorn. The Stardiver was studying the red supergiant in the neighboring Shangdi system. When the star began emitting coronal mass ejections, the Gorn arrived and began to swarm.
  • Captain Batel has been infected with Gorn eggs.
  • An adult Gorn is seen for the first time on Strange New Worlds. It was a practical effect — a man in a Gorn EV suit with an animatronic controlled head.
  • The episode title references the Gorn Hegemony, first mentioned on screen in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Bound".
  • The episode ends with a "To Be Continued…"
